      Fingerprint? Maybe.

EDIT: Thought you were asking if you should get one, not whether it has one.

Yes! So useful for authenticating Windows, password managers, FIDO-enaboled websites. Even if it has Windows Hello IR camera, you don't always want to stick your face upright in front of the camera. My Asus Zenbook doesn't have one so I leave a USB fingerprint reader in most of the time because they're that useful.

      • oh yeah i forgot those existed, how much are usb fingerprint readers? That would be nice

    • I believe its a No. I added the item to cart and didnt see any option for adding a fringerprint reader.

finding it hard to work out if the ram is upgradeable and if I can add a second storage drive, does anyone know for sure? I find laptop model numbers vauge and confusing sometimes

    Nice find, pretty cheap

Yeah, amazing how the store rep managed to find an item their own store was selling…

      Hidden gem for sure.

      • Well to be store reps tend to know less about what they're selling than customers.

    Great value!

Would've gotten this if I didn't get the Dynabook deals from before…… (Which is taking a year to ship.. AusPost is so unpredictable)

Anyways, this looks like amazing value.

Reminds of the time someone's parcel went on a holiday around Australia.

I foget the details but it's like he lived in Mel the parcel went to SA then WA then QLD then NSW then Mel.

      • My package looked like it took a holiday in Melbourne..

Last week it said 'in transit' from South VIC, 7 days later it arrives for sorting at North VIC…

Is this like a real bargain stealer price , or ok-ok price , or just so-so / normal sale price ?

at this price point it basically doesnt matter, both are good just get whichever is cheaper

      • OOS already

Quick Google says indicates i5 is better. this is available at officeworks for $650 so idk how great the price is. What I'm curious to know is what kind of matter life this might get.

      Edit: officeworks model is 14"

This is an excellent price for a very capable processor, they havent skimped on the ram, solid wifi and importantly a backlit keyboard thats often missing at this price point.

I7 unit is available, unfortunately that’s 25 i5 units sold out!

      • All our MSI units are on sale & 20% of a range of refurbs.

Man, whoever set the prices for your refurbs are smoking crack lol.

  • May the lord have mercy on anyone who has to use this trash screen 💀

    • The old MSI laptop screens were bad they have improved it with this model and are now labeling it an "IPS level display" also lots of people use external monitors these days.

At this price point its the best FHD IPS screen your going to get.. an imporvement is better then sticking with the old panel provider they were with

  • How did I miss this? :(

    • don't worry, you not missing out much.
No graphics card and Intel CPU, one of the worst combo if you think about it.

      • I mean at that price you might as well wish for a dedicated NPU.

        • Yeah, funny.
My point is, this setup is so bad that it won't last long.
Might as well get one of those Lenovo tablet with keyboard, surely can do what this laptop can do with less cost.
