I wonder if these are returned units or refurbished units.

    • Or it's this $89 skin only product and they're trying to make the deal sound better than what it is.

I mean that’s still nearly a $60 saving? Roughly 66% off? Still a good deal regardless

        • Didn't say it wasn't a good deal. We're wondering why they have so many without boxes, chargers and batteries.

          • @TheJoker: Maybe it’s to stop people asking them if it comes with a battery or charger?

          • +1

@TheJoker: They're definitely brand new. The stock checker listed 119 units at Burleigh before I headed to pick one up. If I had to guess, perhaps someone dropped a pallet of them and damaged the boxes and as a safety precaution they chose to sell them without potentially damaged (hazardous) batteries and chargers.

If I had to guess, perhaps someone dropped a pallet of them and damaged the boxes

For the boxes to be that damaged then the product inside would be ruined and not sellable.

These are more likely the skin only product and the boxes were damaged in some way (wet, printing error etc)

Or simply excess stock so selling without the boxes is an easy way to sell them cheaper

@spaceflight: Yeah that sounds more logical. The main thing is that they're new, not returned or refurbished.

                • @ohgee: Yeah, so what I said. The skin only product without the boxes.

      • +1

”no battery/charger" is the same thing as skin only.
They have just made it extra obvious as not everyone would know what 'skin only' means

    • +1

      Possibly box damaged skins.

  • Bought last month 89 :(

    • How is it? Would you recommend it?

      • +1

Mixed reviews… However, returned mine as it couldn't hurt a fly.

        • +1

Thanks mate, ok i was thinking of getting it as a spare, maybe not worth it…

      • +6

It's ok for a maintenance trim. Not so much for when you tell your wife you'll get to it and then 12 months later..

      • Just ok. Can do the small job

      • +4

        Got one.
I'm a fan - it's light, and does hedge trimming if the hedge is not more than a year between trims.

    • +3

      Except… it is.

    • +1

I was just there, it is open…

      • Why on Gg map it’s closed..

        • +4

Google says open. Bunnings website says open. Most importantly I went there and its open. Just not sure why people post when they have no idea

          • -2

@Spaldo: I am in NSw and it’s not opened

            • +2

@drhip: Trading rules in NSW very different to rest of Australia, eg most stores closed apart from petrol, pharmacy and corner stores. No trading restrictions in Tas and some other states, eg supermarkets and dept stores all open.

  • 20 left on the trolley currently

  • it's 18 hours away from me, wondering if there's a mode of transport that can make it worth it

  • +1

    $30

Only if you pay with cash

  • Will this clear my bush?

    • +1

As someone mentioned before, if the growth is more than a year old, your in trouble.
This is strictly a hedge trimmer. If the hedge is now a bush, probably go for a chainsaw?

    • +2

      If you're brave enough

    • Capable of up to 11mm width.

  • +1

Why the 1c on top of $30? I can understand $29.99, but what's $30.01 trying to achieve?

    • Probably just fing around.

    • +2

They do the + 1c on all yellow sticker sales to differentiate them from regular sales. Purely for reporting and inventory purposes.

      • When I worked at EB Games years ago they did a similar thing to know what discount was meant to apply to it. Eg price ending in 93 was 30% off

  • Not sure if more worried that someone skinned a hedge trimmer "it puts the lotion on the skin". Or that the head trimmer is used on the skin

  • +2

Can they really advertise was "was $119" when they aren't actually including what was in the $119 package like battery and charger?
